What is shown on the postcard

The postcard captures the 7th building of the Voskhod Sanatorium, currently known as Dacha Flora. At the center of the composition is a rotunda with columns, situated on a raised base made of rusticated stone. To the right of the rotunda, a section of the main building is visible, featuring a classical portico adorned with pilasters and topped with a triangular pediment. In front of the building, at the level of the rotunda, runs a balustrade with crisscrossing X-shaped motifs. The area around the buildings is richly landscaped with shrubs and trees. The sky in the upper part of the postcard has a dark hue, creating a contrast with the brightly lit white facades of the structures. A human figure is visible in the shadow on the left.

Historical note

The 7th building of the Voskhod Sanatorium, originally known as Dacha Flora (or Villa Victoria), was constructed in the early 20th century. This dacha belonged to a wealthy citizen of Feodosia and was intended for summer leisure. Following the October Revolution and the establishment of Soviet power in Crimea, many private properties, including Dacha Flora, were nationalized and re-purposed as healthcare institutions. The building soon became part of the Voskhod Sanatorium, which specialized in treating respiratory and musculoskeletal diseases, becoming one of Feodosia’s leading medical facilities.

Present day

Currently, the 7th building continues to function as part of the Voskhod sanatorium complex. The building retains its historic architectural appearance, despite past renovations and alterations. Dacha Flora remains a recognizable element of Feodosia’s urban landscape and an important cultural heritage site. The Voskhod Sanatorium continues to welcome guests and is one of the city’s active resort establishments.
