Historical note
The ‘Staryi Dub’ restaurant was one of the landmark sites in Soviet-era Truskavets, built to serve the numerous visitors of the all-Union health resort. The building’s architecture followed the trends of Carpathian wooden design of the second half of the 20th century, combining ethnographic motifs with the functionality of Soviet public dining. The complex was harmoniously integrated into the forest landscape on the city’s outskirts.
Present day
In subsequent years, the original wooden building underwent changes. Currently, a modern hotel and wellness complex of the same name, ‘Staryi Dub’, stands at the historic location on Drohobychtska Street, preserving the name but completely replacing the old architecture with a contemporary design.
