What is shown on the postcard
The postcard depicts a bronze bust of N. I. Kuznetsov in military uniform, mounted on a tall, four-sided red granite pedestal. The front of the pedestal features an inscribed dedication and a bronze laurel branch. The monument stands on a stepped granite base enclosed by a low decorative metal chain fence. Flowers are visible in the foreground, with green trees and a cloudy sky in the background.
Historical note
The monument to the legendary Soviet partisan and intelligence agent Nikolai Kuznetsov was unveiled in Rivne in 1961. During the German occupation, Rivne served as the capital of Reichskommissariat Ukraine, where Kuznetsov conducted high-profile intelligence and sabotage operations under the alias of German officer Paul Siebert.
Present day
In 1992, by decision of the local authorities, the monument was dismantled and subsequently relocated to Kuznetsov’s homeland in Talitsa, Sverdlovsk Oblast (Russia), where it was re-erected. Today, a public square occupies the historical site of the monument in Rivne.
