Historical note
Marko Lukych Kropyvnytskyi, one of the founders of the Ukrainian professional theatre, lived and worked in this house, which he purchased in 1882. The memorial museum was opened here in October 1982 to mark the centenary of the first Ukrainian professional theatre (‘Theatre of Coryphaei’).
Present day
Today, the memorial museum continues to operate in the city of Kropyvnytskyi as a branch of the Kirovohrad Regional Museum of Local Lore. The historical appearance of the building and the estate is carefully preserved.
