What is shown on the postcard

In the foreground, the calm water of the Khorol River is shown with a person riding a paddle boat. On the opposite bank, there is a stone-reinforced embankment, behind which stands the building of the Resort Palace of Culture, built in the second half of the 1970s. Green spaces of the resort park area are visible on the right.

Historical note

The Resort Palace of Culture, featuring a 1,020-seat hall, was opened in 1976 within the balneological resort of Myrhorod. Built in the Soviet modernist style, the building became the main cultural and leisure center of the health resort. The Khorol River, flowing through the city, has historically been a key element of the resort’s landscape, creating a favorable microclimate and offering opportunities for water recreation.

Present day

Today, the building continues to serve as the Palace of Culture of the Myrhorod Resort. The embankment of the Khorol River remains a popular walking area for locals and tourists, preserving its Soviet-era spatial layout.
