Historical note

The Literary Memorial Museum of the Georgian poet David Guramishvili in Myrhorod was opened in 1969. An outstanding classic of 18th-century Georgian literature, Guramishvili spent the final years of his life in Myrhorod, where he passed away and was buried in 1792. The museum’s exhibition documents the poet’s life and work, his deep ties with Ukraine, and presents ethnographic materials of 18th-century Georgian and Ukrainian everyday life.

Present day

Today, the museum continues to operate as an important cultural center in Myrhorod, fostering and strengthening Ukrainian-Georgian cultural relations. The surrounding grounds are well-kept, the building has retained its original architectural appearance with decorative arches and ornaments, and the monument to David Guramishvili remains situated in the park near the entrance.
