What is shown on the postcard
The image shows a modernist two-story Palace of Culture building situated on the shore of a pond. A pedestrian bridge with railings leads to the main entrance. Historical note
The Palace of Culture of the Myrhorod resort was built in the 1970s during a large-scale reconstruction and expansion of the famous Soviet mineral water and balneological resort. Designed in the style of Soviet architectural modernism, the building was intended for concerts, movie screenings, and cultural events for resort visitors.
Present day
Today, the building continues to operate as the Palace of Culture of the Myrhorod Resort. The Soviet propaganda and symbols have been removed from the facade, but the overall modernist architectural shape, glazing, and wall relief decorations remain preserved. The pond and the surrounding park area remain a popular spot for walks.
