Historical note
The monument to the Komsomol members of the 1920s in Myrhorod was erected in 1968 within the resort park on the banks of the Khorol River. The monument was dedicated to the memory of young activists from the early years of Soviet rule. The surrounding park area was traditionally a major recreation spot for both local residents and visitors to the Myrhorod balneological resort.
Present day
As part of the implementation of decommunization laws in Ukraine, the monument to the Komsomol members of the 1920s in Myrhorod was dismantled in July 2016. The resort park area on the banks of the Khorol River remains a popular recreational zone with its old green trees, though the Soviet memorial symbols have been completely removed from the park.
