What is shown on the postcard

The left section shows the bronze bust of L. I. Brezhnev installed on a high pedestal made of red granite, with people standing in front of it. The right section displays the Monument of Military Glory, featuring a tall curved white stele on a paved square, with residential buildings, a road, and an overpass visible in the background.

Historical note

The bust of L. I. Brezhnev was installed in his hometown of Dniprodzerzhynsk in 1976 following his second award of the Hero of the Soviet Union. The Monument of Military Glory was inaugurated in 1975 to mark the 30th anniversary of Victory in World War II at the intersection of Lenin Avenue (now Svobody Avenue) and Leningradskaya Street (now Anoshkina Avenue).

Present day

Following decommunization laws in Ukraine, the bust of L. I. Brezhnev was dismantled from the public square in 2023 and relocated to the grounds of the local history museum. The Monument of Military Glory remains a historical landmark, though Soviet inscriptions have been modified or removed.
