Historical note
The new complex of the Odesa Marine Terminal on the New Pier was constructed in 1968, designed by architects V. Golovin and V. Kreymer. Replacing older port structures, it became one of the largest passenger terminals on the Black Sea, capable of accommodating large-tonnage cruise ships. By 1973, it served as a key transport hub for the Black Sea Shipping Company.
Present day
In subsequent decades, the complex underwent major redevelopment, including the construction of the high-rise Hotel Odesa at the end of the pier in 2001. During the hostilities in 2023, the historical passenger terminal building suffered severe damage from a missile strike, significantly altering its appearance.
