Historical note
Lanzheron Beach, named after the Governor-General of the Novorossiya region Alexandre de Langeron, is one of the oldest developed beaches in Odesa. During the Soviet era, the area underwent active reconstruction, reinforced with concrete slabs and retaining walls to prevent landslides. The double-deck concrete viewing rotunda became one of the landmarks of this resort area.
Present day
Today, the area near Lanzheron Beach has been significantly modernized with a contemporary wooden boardwalk, fountains, and hotels, though the historical layout of the coastline and the general contours of the slopes remain recognizable.
