What is shown on the postcard

Historical note
The monument to V. I. Lenin in Rivne was unveiled in 1967 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution on the square that then bore his name. The monument was designed by prominent Soviet sculptors M. K. Vronsky and O. P. Oliynyk. The square around the monument served as the main venue for official celebrations and parades during the Soviet era.
Present day
In August 1991, immediately following the declaration of Ukraine’s independence, the Lenin monument in Rivne was dismantled, becoming one of the first to be removed in the country. Today, its former location is known as Independence Square (Maidan Nezalezhnosti), the central public square of the city. The surrounding Soviet-era residential buildings still stand and have been partially modernized.
